Notes: Um...it fits the prompt in a sort of metaphorical way, right? :P

This is a sequel/deleted scene to Language of the Heart - please read that one first!

Clark’s focus is bound to his work. Consequently, when he hears Lois whisper in a ridiculously atrocious accent, “Kal-el, yudjï, hdesari ku…uh, the stapler etoh,” he jumps. Piles of paper go flying and lukewarm coffee spatters his suit. Completely flustered by the juxtaposition of the language of his heart and the banal content of the sentence, he’s not sure whether to glower or laugh.

“Joresh etana…darn it, Lois, I don’t think there’s a word for stapler. Anyway, yro.”

She smirks. “Oh, I know. I just wanted to check my pronunciation. I figure the better it is, the higher you’ll jump.”

Absolutely pitch-perfect. And beyond in character for Lois. And I thought my Clark jumped at just his Kryptonian name. XD

OH, My. The image... *wheezes* The image of Kal-El being so into being "Clark" at that moment that Lois startles him when she uses his native tongue like that is HILARIOUS and SO very in character too!
